There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept.

- Ansel Adams

It begins with pencil and paper

Starting from scratch with a pencil and paper is the best way to sketch ideas, and have the most visual options in the least amount of time. Ultimately, this stage allows designers to generate concepts for a project, and then review the various approaches until deciding which visual image is the best fit.

Questions that should be considered during this stage are as follows:
Should the design be symmetrical or asymmetrical?
How will I visually balance design elements with color?
How can I maximize the use of two colors or 1 color with the paper?
